Toronto & Winnipeg-warm & welcoming.

Wow after a rough start in Toronto the rest of the evening was great! People were amazing and so supportive. Off to Winnipeg it was, touched down and felt the warmth of the photography community immediately. With a core group of photographers taking Davide Greene and myself out for dinner and drinks both nights all I can say is thank you so much! You have no idea what a great time we have had. Hundreds of emails, facebook messages and phone calls in support of the tour. We landed in Calgary a few hours ago and I finally got to talk to my family! By far the best part of my week! Now it's off to bed as we have a big day ahead of us. I'll leave you with some powerful words to think about.

"Opinions mean nothing if the truth isn't a popularity contest."

The images below are all from our Winnipeg trip. Davide getting money from a late arrival, two participants which were great at modeling for us, a happy couple who introduced themselves to me (had a great chat with them) as well as our view from the hotel....thanks Winnipeg!

Craft Your Success Montreal

Well we finally got here. Our flight from Halifax got cancelled an then they only had room for David Jay and I on the flight in the evening. So Davide Greene was left behind for the night as DJ and I took a flight from Halifax to Ottawa, Ottawa to Toronto and then finally Toronto to Montreal. West Jet lost our two big speakers as well. Oh and then as we get to the hotel we found out they gave up our room....thanks Quality Inn Downtown! It only about 1:30 am and we haven't slept in what feels like days :) Hey that's now in the past and the seminar day is here! I took out everyone to do a live photoshoot and they were great! The group was super friendly and very welcoming. Special thanks to Vick of http://www.prizmaproductions.com/ for all the great photos of the interior of the W Hotel and of me :) Thanks Vick!

Famous Failures

Today stunning photographer Dane Sanders posted this fantastic video...love it! Thanks Dane. I truly believe this video. I'm always telling people, if you don't fail, your not living and you can't grow as a person. The most successful people in this world are people who have failed the most. The only thing I'd change is the word "fail", it sounds so negative. I don't believe in failure just "results". Not all of them are positive as first but if thought about all results end up becoming positive as they in turn shape who we are and what we will become. Food for thought so please check out this video.

The Four F's

The other day I mentioned that I wanted to share with you some things I've learn't over the years that have made me who I am as a family man and business man. I read this great book called the Greatness Guide. In it the author Robin Sharma talks about the four f's. I can relate to this in every way. These are four of the steps that I truly believe will help "guide someone to greatness". The first f is for Fear....fear is what I really believe stops everyone from gaining greatness in life. Control it and the skies the limit. The next is Failure...everyone fails in some sort of way. I personally don't believe in failure, just results. Now the results may not be the ones I'm looking for but with every result is a lesson. With every lesson comes a learning experience. Don't fear failure, learn from it and thank it for teaching you. The third f is Forgetting...this is a big one. How many of us have gone to a workshop or had a real deep conversation with someone and once it's over your ready to chance the world. Only to see in a few days or weeks that we are back to our old ways and feel rejected before we get started. Take realistic steps each day to ensure your on the track you want to be on. Then remind yourself everyday what you want and keep it fresh in your mind. The final f is for Faith...as Bon Jovi once said "keep the faith". Faith and the belief in yourself will take you much future then you could ever expect. I look back over the years and I've been blessed to have a lot of great very supportive people in my life. But not that long ago I said I wanted to open a business. Well let's just say I had a few people tell me I wasn't playing with a full deck of cards. Now a few years later my business has sky rocketed and I'm meeting all kinds of amazing people. All this to say that once you believe in yourself, over come fear of failure and don't forget what's important to you, your one step closure to person wealth and success. All the best. Mike

The Power With In

Hey everyone I though I'd do something a little different today. I'm going to share with you my experience after speaking at a local seminar. For everyone that knows me, this won't be a surprise but for those that are new to my blog or have never met me you are going to find out something new about me and I really hope you can learn something to use in your personal life. I'm I huge fan and follower of leadership coaches like Anthony Robbins and Robin Sharma. Recently I was asked to speak at a seminar in front of the Professional Photographers of Canada Eastern Location group. During the 3+ hours they generously allotted for me I took the time to share with this great group of photographers my personal beliefs on why I feel I've been so blessed in personal and business life. The seminar organizer asked that I speak on how I've been able to organize a very successful business well maintaining a wonderful personal life full of freedom and happiness. I took this task into two parts. First, how and why I've been able to gain personal wealth and secondly how to gain freedom in your business. I really think that both go hand in hand. Unfortunately I think that most people don't take time for themselves to gain what leaderships coaches call person wealth. When I started my company I did what I think a lot of use tend not to do. I made sure I covered what I believe to be the basic fundamentals traits to instant success. I'd like to share them with you now. So over the next few days I'm going to post some of what I've learnt over the years and what I truly believe has lead me to not only become a better father and family man but also as a successful business man.

Hamming It Up For The Camera.

Allot of children tend to shy away from the camera but not this one. This little girl loved having her picture taken. It was great, I just sat back and watched her go! She was even posing for me once she saw I was taking her picture. Then got upset when I turned the camera on her mom and dad and not her.
